Man Killed In Fire At Hammond Home

HAMMOND, Ind. (STMW) -- A Hammond man died Saturday after he was injured in a fire at his northwest Indiana home.

Roy Krieger, 85, was hurt in the Saturday fire at his home in the 4300 block of Torrence Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead at 7:42 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

The Hammond Fire Department could not immediately be reached for comment.
