Toddler Found Wandering On West Side Reunited With Family

(STMW) -- A little boy who was found alone near Douglas Park on the West Side Sunday morning has been reunited with his family.

Police had sent out an alert Sunday morning seeking the parents or guardians after the boy, believed to be between 18 and 24 months old, was found in the 1300 block of South Fairfield Avenue.

By about 10:30 a.m. the boy's family had been located and they were reunited with him, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.

The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital "as a precautionary measure" to make sure that he was in good health, but he had not suffered any sort of injuries, Sullivan said.

It was not yet known as of Sunday morning if any charges would be filed in connection to the case, police said.
