Motorcyclist Dies After South Side Crash

CHICAGO (STMW)-- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the city's South Side Friday night.

A 32-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle while travelling southbound in the 7600 block of South Western Avenue at about 9:15 p.m., Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The man's motorcycle hit the curb, and then he lost control and struck a light pole, Greer said.

He was identified as Robert Poindexter of the 6000 block of South Troy Street, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:49 p.m.
