Pelosi Calls For Day Care Assistance For Working Moms In Chicago Visit

Top Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi came to Chicago to help President Obama raise money and sing the praises of the Affordable Care Act.

But she told the mostly female audience at Loyola's downtown campus that the next big battle is for daycare funding to help the poorest woman go to work.

"If you are going to have policies that work for people you have to elect people who support that and this doesn't mean anything partisan," said Pelosi.

But she says it does mean reducing the special interest money that can swing elections.

"Whatever the subject is, if women speak out very strongly on this, that will make a tremendous difference. But you cannot have money blocking your voices," said Pelosi.

Pelosi was joined by Congresswomen Jan Schakowsky and Robin Kelly, who won her election with some outside help.
