(CBS) It’s a bright day for the University of Illinois football program.

According to multiple reports, Oklahoma State quarterback Wes Lunt will transfer to the Fighting Illini.

Lunt, a Rochester, Il. native, announced his decision to transfer in May and has since chosen Illinois over Louisville.

As a true freshman, Lunt started five games for the Cowboys in 2012, throwing for over 1,100 yards with six touchdowns and seven interceptions.

In accordance with NCAA rules, Lunt must sit out the 2013 season before entering into three years of eligibility with Illinois.
