Man Shot To Death In South Suburban Homewood

HOMEWOOD, Ill. (STMW) -- A man who was recently shot in south suburban Homewood died late Tuesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Nineteen-year-old Homewood resident Henry Kormoi died from at least one gunshot wound suffered near his home in the 1100 block of 187th Street, the medical examiner's office said.

Kormoi was taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 11:47 p.m. Tuesday, according to the medical examiner's office.

An autopsy Wednesday found Kormoi died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.

Homewood police would not comment on the shooting.
