Man, Teen Girl Shot In Greater Grand Crossing

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man and a teen girl were shot late Thursday in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting occurred about 11:20 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Wabash Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

The girl, 17, was shot in the chest and arm. She was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in serious condition, Greer said, citing preliminary information.

The man, 24, was shot in the upper torso. He was also taken to Stroger Hospital but his condition was not immediately available, police said.

No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated.
