Man Shot And Killed In West Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot to death Thursday night in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The man was standing on a porch about 9:40 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Marshfield Avenue when two males approached on foot and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The man, 31, was shot in the left side of the chest and was pronounced on the scene, Alfaro said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the fatality.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
