"I want to congratulate and thank Rainbow/PUSH for their strong support of economic empowerment for people of color and women in particular," said Madigan.

"And I also want to thank Rainbow/PUSH for your continued partnership with me and with my office so that we can root out economic injustice and ensure everyone's financial stability. Thank you and have a wonderful convention."

Her remarks were followed by applause. Outside the Hilton ballroom, reporters asked a familiar question: Will she run for governor?

"Again, I will... you all will know as soon as I make a decision, but at this point I have not made a decision."

The Rainbow/PUSH convention runs through Wednesday.
