CHICAGO (STMW) -- Bond was denied Friday for a man charged in connection with the January 2012 murder of a woman in the Pilsen neighborhood.

Angel Santiago, 39, was arrested on Thursday in Florida and extradited to Chicago on a listed warrant, according to police News Affairs. He was charged with one count of first-degree murder in relation to the death of a 33-year-old woman in the 2000 block of South May Street on Jan. 24, 2012.

Police said the murder occurred inside a residence about 12:20 p.m.

Antonia Berrios, 33, of the 4900 block of North Kentucky Avenue, was found unresponsive in the 2000 block of South May Street on Jan. 24, 2012. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:45 p.m.

Her autopsy initially found her cause of death to be inconclusive pending further police investigation.

At a hearing on Friday, Cook County Judge Donald Panarese denied bail for Santiago, who also faces charges of felony identity theft and warrant issuance. His next scheduled courtdate has been scheduled for July 31.
