Ventura Says He Wants To Manage Sox In 2014

(CBS) -- White Sox manager Robin Ventura told the Chicago Tribune that he wants to manage the team in 2014, regardless of how the rebuilding process plays out.

"I would like to be here, either way,'' Ventura told the Tribune. "(Hahn) is just taking it on a case-by-case basis of looking at what the deal is, that's what I think," Ventura said. "If it is (rebuilding), you go from there. I don't know for sure what we're going to have going into next year, because we haven't gotten into planning for 2014."

Ventura's contract with the Sox runs through the 2014 season and he turned down a one-year contract extension through 2015.
