Bolingbrook Man Fatally Struck By Car On City's Near South Side

(STMW) -- A 73-year-old Bolingbrook man died Saturday night, five days after he was hit by a vehicle on the Near South Side.

John Lauricella was hit by the vehicle just before 1 p.m. July 29, in the 3000 block of South State Street, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Lauricella, of the 300 block of Musial Circle in Bolingbrook, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he died Saturday night at 6:28 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

Lauricella was hit by a Ford pickup truck driven by 49-year-old Pedro Reyes-Cruz, police said.

Reyes-Cruz was cited with driving without and valid driver's license and failure to exercise due care for a pedestrian, police said.
