CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago-based Ebony Magazine is dedicating its September issue to Trayvon Martin.

It is releasing not just one, but four, powerful covers, three of which feature celebrities and their children.

Chicago native and Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade and his sons, Zaire and Zion, appear on one cover.

"Those three men we thought were a perfect complement for each other and perfect to rep this issue for us," said Editor In Chief Amy DeBois Barnett.

All three celebrities were outspoken about the George Zimmerman not-guilty verdict, and all wanted to help honor the 17-year-old shooting victim.

"Part of the criteria was that we wanted people who had sons and who felt strongly about protecting their sons and about creating a message and image that affect the entire African-American community," Barnett said.

Wade gained over 120,000 likes since he released his cover on social media last night.

The issue is actually part of an ongoing series called "Saving Our Sons."

Ebony's editors hope the covers and series will spark a dialogue on a global scale.

'That's the hope when you create a special and iconic image you hope that it will become viral through social media," Barnett said.

Ebony subscribers will receive the cover with the Martin family.

The celebrity covers will be available on newsstands.

The "Saving Our Sons" series doesn't stop with the magazine.

The White House is partnering with Ebony to conduct nationwide town hall meetings, intended to continue a conversation about African-American relations, especially with young men.
