Strong Winds Halt Some Metra Trains

(STMW) -- Strong winds prompted Metra to stop train service on several lines Friday evening.

Union Pacific North Line trains from Chicago to Kenosha will be stopped in Zion and Highland Park because of "high wind advisories," according to Metra.

Weather conditions have also stopped trains on the Union Pacific Northwest Line, Metra said.

Metra hopes to have trains moving again between 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. or "when conditions are more favorable to operate trains."
