Man Critically Wounded In South Shore Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot after he refused to allow someone into a party in the South Shore neighborhood early Saturday.

The 22-year-old was shot in the chest and buttocks about 2:20 a.m. in the 7800 block of South South Shore Drive, police said.

Someone tried to enter the party, and when the 22-year-old refused to let them in, the unknown person opened fire, police said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigated.
