1 Dead In Beecher Crash

BEECHER, Ill. (STMW) -- One person is dead after a vehicle collided with a semi truck Friday in south suburban Beecher.

A 2000 Chevy traveling west on Eaglelake Road failed to obey a stop sign at Illinois Route 1 and struck a 2008 semi tractor truck before landing in a bean field, according to Illinois State Police.

The driver and passenger of the Chevy were hospitalized, Illinois State Police said. The passenger of the Chevy was pronounced dead at 7:53 p.m.

The Illinois State Police is investigating the crash.
