CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Social Security office in Chicago was the backdrop for a protest this afternoon over the partial government shutdown.

Some of the protesters were government workers. Some - like 95-year-old Beatrice Lumpkin - are just upset with Congress.

"I don't hold all of Congress responsible. Number one, it's the extreme right-wing Tea Party lunatics."

Lumpkin says she lived through the Depression - and has seen a lot of unreasonableness in Washington - but she says nothing like now.

"And I remember Herbert Hoover. I didn't see the hatred that's going on now. Some of these Republicans, they don't care if we live or die."

Lumpkin says she knows she'll get her Social Security check sooner or later - and she says that's when the landlord will get the rent.
