Police Bust Nets Over $1 Million In Illegal Drugs

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police arrested three men and recovered four guns and more than $1.2 million in narcotics Wednesday night in the Southwest Side Chicago Lawn District, police said.

Big Drug Bust On South Side

Raphael Torres, 59, of the 6500 block of West 63rd Place, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a warrant for an unrelated investigation, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department.

Naftali Centeno, 31, also of the 6500 block of West 63rd Place, was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of unlawful use of weapon by felon, possession of cannabis, and a warrant for an unrelated investigation, police said.

Also, Sergey Mordvin, 33, of the 6000 block of North Sheridan Road, was charged with possession of cannabis, according to the statement.

At Torres' apartment in the Southwest Side Clearing neighborhood, police said officers recovered 166 pounds of marijuana, estimated to be worth more than $1.1 million; quantities of crystal methamphetamine, ecstasy and cocaine; four firearms, two of which had been reported stolen; and $44,000.
