Bears DT Nate Collins Out For Season With ACL Tear

(CBS) The hits keep coming for the Bears defensive line.

Bears head coach Marc Trestman announced Monday that defensive tackle Nate Collins will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL tear suffered in Sunday's loss to the Saints.

Trestman said the recovery process for Collins will take at least eight months.

Ironically, Collins was playing in place of DT Henry Melton, who was placed on IR just over a week ago with a torn ACL.

Making matters worse, DT Stephen Paea also missed Sunday's game with turf toe.

The Bears have roughly $2.9 million in free cap space to find help on the defensive line.
