Bears Sign Jordan Palmer, Make Several Other Roster Moves

(CBS) The Bears officially announced the signing of backup quarterback Jordan Palmer on Monday morning.

In addition to the Palmer signing, the team signed linebacker Larry Grant, waived tight end Steve Maneri and cornerback C.J. Wilson and then re-signed Wilson to the practice squad after he cleared waivers.

The team also signed wide receiver Terrence Toliver to the practice squad, while terminating the contract of wide receiver Ricardo Lockette.

Palmer appeared in four games with the Bengals over three seasons (2008-10), completing 10-of-15 pass attmeps for 49 yards and two interceptions.

During his 2013 preseason with the Bears, Palmer completed 12-of-18 pass attempts for 116 yards and a touchdown for a 103.0 passer rating.

The 6-1, 251-pound Grant has appeared in 66 games with 11 starts over five seasons with the Rams and 49ers, collecting 64 tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, five pass break ups and 29 special teams stops.
