Man Charged After Death Of Worth Woman

WORTH, Ill. (STMW) -- A south suburban man has been charged after a woman died Friday in south suburban Worth.

Eric Steven Johnson, 20, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, Worth police said.

Brittany Wawrzyniak, 18, of the 10800 block of South Nashville Avenue in Worth, was pronounced dead at 8:47 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Authorities did not immediately specify how Wawrzyniak died, but noted that she died at 115th Street and Beloit in Worth, the medical examiner's office said.

Worth police would not provide further details but stated a death investigation was being conducted.
