(STMW) –A woman was shot to death in a vehicle at a gas station in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood Wednesday night.

Amanda Fitch, 24, was found dead in the vehicle at 5:56 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Stony Island Avenue, Chicago Police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said.

The shooting took place at a gas station, sources said.

Fitch was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where she was pronounced dead at 6:53 p.m., a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said.

Police believe the shooter left the scene in another vehicle, Ursitti said.

No one is in custody, police said. Area Central detectives are investigating what they say is a gang-related shooting.
