Woman Found Dead In Austin
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was found dead early Sunday in an alley in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
La Tasha Amos, 37, of the 4700 block of West Adams Street, was found unresponsive in the 1100 block of North Mason Avenue at 3 a.m. Sunday, according to police and a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
She apparently had been hit by a car, according to the medical examiner's office.
Amos was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she was pronounced dead at 3:20 a.m., authorities said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine cause and manner of Amos' death.
