Man In Little Village Is Season's First Cold Death

(STMW) -- The death of a man Sunday in the Little Village neighborhood is the first confirmed cold-related fatality of the winter season in Cook County, an autopsy Monday showed.

Daniel Badillo, 50, was found in the 3100 block of West 99th Street and pronounced dead at St. Anthony Hospital at 8:02 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

An autopsy Monday determined Badillo died of hypothermia, cold exposure and acute and chronic alcoholism, the medical examiner's office said. His death was ruled an accident.
