Man Charged In Pizza Delivery Robbery After Victim Spots Him On Facebook

CHICAGO (STMW) -- An armed robber who helped steal a "football sized pizza" and $13 from a couple delivering food was arrested after one of the victims recognized him on Facebook, Cook County prosecutors said.

Jamokae Smith allegedly popped out of an alley, wielding a blue steel revolver in the 5000 block of West Wabansia as a man and his girlfriend delivered a pizza on Nov. 9.

While Smith, 22, pointed the weapon, his cohort demanded money, prosecutors said.

The man who was with Smith ran away with the pizza and the $13 in cash, prosecutors said. The female victim later searched Facebook and found images of Smith, whom she recognized, prosecutors said.

He was arrested Nov. 28 and was positively identified by both victims, prosecutors said.

Smith's co-offender has not been charged.

Smith was ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bail Saturday for aggravated robbery with a firearm and aggravated robbery.
