CTA: Ventra Cards Not Working On Some Buses Friday Evening

(STMW) -- The CTA is reporting scattered Ventra card reader outages on buses Friday evening.

Scattered reports began to come in about 6:30 p.m. that buses on multiple routes are experiencing outages, CTA spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis said. She could not immediately provide which routes or how many buses are affected.

Lukidis said the CTA is working with the vendor to identify and correct the problem as quickly as possible.

She said the reports are scattered, and that she had not received any indication that the problem is widespread.

CTA President Forrest Claypool said earlier this week that the software for the card readers on all CTA buses would be updated by the end of the week, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
