10 Displaced After Austin Fire

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Ten adults were in need of shelter early Monday after a home caught fire in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The fire began about 12:35 a.m. in the rear of a two-story frame house in the 4900 block of West Superior Street, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Juan Hernandez said.

Ten adults were displaced by the blaze, Hernandez said. The city Department of Human Services was contacted to assist them.

The fire was extinguished as of 2:30 a.m. and no injuries were reported, Hernandez said. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
