MissingMan Found Dead In Barrington Hills Forest Preserve

BARRINGTON HILLS, Ill. (STMW) -- A body found Christmas Day in a forest preserve in Barrington Hills has been identified as that of a missing northwest suburban man, police said Thursday.

The body of the man in his 30s was found Wednesday in Spring Creek Valley Forest Preserve near 361 Bateman Rd. in Barrington Hills, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He has since been identified as Robert Hovinen, a Carpentersville resident who went missing Monday from Skeeters, a bar in the northwestern suburb, according to Carpentersville police.

The Cook County Sheriff's office is investigating, but could not immediately say whether foul play was involved.

An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday, the medical examiner's office said.
