DOLTON (CBS) -- Two suspects have been charged in the fatal Christmas night shooting of a pregnant teen in Dolton, authorities said Saturday night.

Dolton Police Chief John Franklin said 17-year-old Eva Casara was struck by gunfire while she was with 16-year-old boyfriend Anthony Lee, the father of her child, and Lee's older brother, 21-year-old Diante Coakley. The Dolton residents were each charged with a single count of first-degree murder.

"It's hard to call it an accident when you're firing a gun in the direction of people," Dolton Police Chief John Franklin told reporters at a Saturday night news conference. "Unfortunately, she was just  in the wrong place, at the wrong time with the wrong company – and that's how it played out for her."

The suspects were expected to appear in court this morning in Chicago.

Casara was shot in the back of the head Wednesday and was found in the snow between two homes in the 1100 block of East 152nd Street around 8 p.m.

Although she was pronounced dead Thursday morning, doctors at Christ Hospital were able to save her baby daughter, who was approximately three months premature.

A third suspect was expected to be charged in the case, Franklin said.
