Man Charged In Attempted Robbery, Shooting Of Delivery Driver

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 21-year-old man has been charged after allegedly shooting a delivery driver in a robbery attempt Friday night in the South Deering neighborhood on the Far South Side, police announced Sunday.

Dominique K. Anderson, of the 10800 block of South Hoxie Avenue, faces felony counts of attempted robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm, according to a police news release.

He is accused of shooting a 52-year-old delivery driver in the back during an attempted robbery about 8:20 p.m. Friday in the 2600 block of East 106th Street, police said.

The 52-year-old man was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

Anderson is scheduled to appear in bond court on Monday.
