Oprah Lists Mag Mile Condo For $7.75 Million
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Entertainment mogul Oprah Winfrey has listed her condominium along the Magnificent Mile for sale for $7.75 million.
The website of real estate firm Baird & Warner listed the 9,600 sq. ft. duplex at 180 E. Pearson St. for sale Monday.
The unit includes four bedrooms, five bathrooms and two half-baths, as well multiple living areas and two kitchens, including "a huge chef's kitchen," according to the listing.
According to county property records, Winfrey purchased three condos on the 56th floor of the Water Tower Place residence between 1992 and 1994.
Taxes alone for the unit were estimated at more than $71,500 in 2012, and assessments for the condo run to just over $9,000 per month, according to the listing.
In 2012, Winfrey sold another home of hers at at 199 E. Lake Shore Drive for $2.75 million — half the $5.6 million she paid for the home in 2006. Though owning it for six years, she never lived there, the Sun-Times reported previously.
Winfrey's company, Harpo Inc., is also considering selling part of its West Loop studio campus at 1058 W. Washington St.
