NIU Edges E. Michigan 61-59 In Double OT

DEKALB, Ill. (AP) -- Jordan Threloff grabbed a career-high 18 boards and scored 27 points, including the game-winning layup with 4 seconds left in double overtime to lift Northern Illinois past Eastern Michigan 61-59 Thursday night.

Eastern Michigan made four shots from the line to lead 59-55 with 3:14 remaining in the second overtime.  Aaric Armstead answered with three points to pull Northern Illinois within one with 50 seconds left.

Daylen Harrison missed a jumper for EMU, then fouled Darrell Bowie with 6 second to play.  Bowie made his first of two free throw attempts to tie it at 59.  He grabbed the rebound from the second shot, but missed the ensuing layup only to have Threloff grab the board and score the game-winner for the Huskies.

Armstead had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Northern Illinois (12-13, 6-7 Mid-American).

Mike Talley scored 17 points to lead Eastern Michigan (15-11, 7-6).
