The two men, 19 and 23, were standing on a sidewalk about 8:20 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Massasoit Avenue when another male approached and started shooting at them, police said.

The 23-year-old suffered multiple gunshot wounds and showed up at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park before he was taken in critical condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.

The 19-year-old was shot in the leg and taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he is in "stable" condition, police said.
