(CBS) DePaul freshman guard Billy Garrett Jr. was named the Big East Rookie of the Year, the school announced Wednesday afternoon.
Garrett averaged 12.4 points, best among the conference’s freshmen. He also led the league’s freshmen in assists and free-throw percentage.
DePaul plays Georgetown later tonight in the opening round of the Big East Tournament.
