LANSING, Ill. (CBS) -- Murder charges have been filed against a 21-year-old Lansing man in the death of his 2-year-old daughter earlier this week.

WBBM's Mike Krauser reports the suspect has been identified as Jeremiah Thompson, father of two-year-old Jahariah Patterson.

The two-year-old was found unresponsive in her home on Wildwood Avenue near 179th Street Wednesday afternoon after a 911 call was made for a medical emergency. An autopsy found she died from multiple blunt force injuries from child abuse and her death was ruled a homicide.
