Bears Sign Center Brian De La Puente To 1-Year Deal

(CBS) --- The Chicago Bears have signed center Brian de la Puente to a one-year contract.

De la Puente has started 44 out of 48 games for the New Orleans Saints the past three seasons. The Saints allowed just 87 sacks in those seasons, the second fewest in the NFL.

The 6-foot-3, 306-pound center entered the league as an undrafted free agent of the San Francisco 49ers in 2008. De la Puente also spent time on the practice squads of the Chiefs, Panthers and Seahwks.
