Chicago Marathon Lottery Ends At Noon Monday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Runners hoping to take part in the Chicago Marathon this year have until noon to register for the lottery to get in.

WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports if you're not one of the thousands picked by lottery to run in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Oct. 12, there are back door ways to guarantee a spot.

You can get in by running for an official marathon charity, or by being a legacy finisher if you finished a Chicago Marathon five or more times in the past decade.

You also can get into the marathon by joining the International Tour Group Program; or if your official marathon time is 3 hours 15 minutes or better for men, or 3 hours 45 minutes or better for women.

Registration for the marathon lottery opened March 19, two weeks later than scheduled due to problems with the registration website. Lottery winners will be announced April 14.

You can register for the marathon lottery by clicking here.
