Reports: New Bears WR Josh Morgan Arrested After Allegedly Punching Valet Driver

(CBS) Newly signed Bears receiver Josh Morgan has been arrested on charges of misdemeanor simple assault after allegedly punching a valet driver in Washington D.C., according to multiple reports.

Morgan is a former player for the Washington Redskins. He signed a one-year deal with the Bears last Monday.

The alleged incident occurred early Sunday morning, NFL.com reported.

"I have always been a stand up guy in the community," Morgan told WRC-TV, according to NFL.com. "Nothing like this has ever happened to me before."

"I didn't touch him. I didn't anything. This is crazy. I'm not worried about nothing."

NBCWashington.com reported that the valet driver said he was punched by Morgan after looking at the women who had accompanied Morgan to a nightclub.

"I was just standing there and I looked up, and in the blink of an eye he just punched me right in the mouth," Kenneth Johnson told NBCWashington.com. "Instantly my mouth is bleeding profusely, just blood coming out all over my jacket and stuff. I was scared. I didn't know what to do."

Morgan was released and will have to appear in court at a later date, according to reports.
