MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. (STMW) -- A 90-year-old woman died Friday after she was struck by a vehicle in a grocery store parking lot in northwest suburban Mount Prospect.

Harriet Abernethy-Ogorzale was struck by a vehicle shortly before 2 p.m. in a Jewel-Osco grocery store parking lot at 333 E. Euclid Ave., according to Mount Prospect police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Abernethy-Ogorzale, of the 800 block of East Central Road in Arlington Heights, was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was pronounced dead at 5:19 p.m., the medical examiner's office said. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.

An 88-year-old Northbrook woman was the single occupant of the vehicle, and she was not injured, police said. It was not known Saturday morning whether any citations or charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
