(CBS) The Cubs have activated right-handed reliever Pedro Strop from the 15-day disabled list and left-handed reliever Wesley Wright from the paternity leave list, they announced Friday afternoon.
Also, right-handed reliever Hector Rondon has been placed on the paternity leave list, and right-handed reliever Blake Parker has been optioned to Triple-A Iowa.
Strop had been on the DL since May 7 with a left groin strain. He’s 0-2 with a 4.97 ERA and one save in 15 appearances this season. Wright is 0-1 with a 3.18 ERA in 18 appearances this year.
Rondon has assumed the closer role for the Cubs and pitched well in that job, registering six saves this season with a 1.59 ERA.
