Remember Chiberia? A 120 Degree Temperature Swing This Weekend

By John Dodge

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Here's a mind-blowing factoid: This weekend will feel 120 degrees warmer than it did just over four months ago.

The National Weather Service points out that back in mid January Chicago was suffering through a wind chill warning, with temperatures that felt like 40 below zero.

The only warning this weekend: Be sure to wear a good sun block.

Saturday's forecast calls for plenty of sun and temperatures in the 80s, although a bit cooler near the lake.

However, the Lake Michigan water temperature remains chilly, with an average in the high 50s.

May will also be the first time since October to not finish below average for temperatures.

After Saturday, temperatures will remain in the 80s for several days, but there is a chance of rain and thunderstorms.
