Three Charged In Connection With Armed Robberies

(STMW) -- Three men were arrested Saturday in connection with two separate armed robberies that occurred Wednesday.

Darnell Russ, 25 of the 6400 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Drive; Antoine Golden, 26 of the 7900 block of South Langley Avenue; and Lekendrick Williams, 27 of the 1500 block of South Central Park Avenue, were arrested in the 4200 block of South Wentworth Avenue about 12:20 p.m. Saturday, after a short vehicle and foot chase, police said.

The three were arrested in connection with two armed robberies that occurred on June 4. In the first, which happened in the 4900 block of West Quincy Street about 12:30 p.m., suspects took cash and an iPhone from a 23-year-old man, police said. In the second, which occurred in the 200 block of West 31st Street about 3:15 p.m., suspects robbed a 31-year-old man of his wallet and iPhone.

Russ and Williams were each charged with one count of felony robbery with a firearm. Golden was charged with two counts of felony robbery with a firearm and a felony count of fleeing and attempt to elude.

Golden also received the following misdemeanor charges:

• One count of failure to reduce speed

• One count of driving on sidewalks or parkways

• One count of negligent driving

• One count of operating without insurance

• One count of not having a driver's license

• One count of driving the wrong way on a one-way street

All three are schedule to appear in bond court Sunday.
