(CBS) This is a scene you rarely, rarely see on the baseball diamond — at the big league level, at least.
In the third inning of the Brewers-Rockies game last night, Colorado starter Christian Friedrich threw a wild pitch with the bases loaded.
One run scored, obviously. Then a second one came home when the ball squirted away on the throw home. Then, remarkably, Jean Segura sprinted home all the way from first base when he saw no one was paying attention.
Contrary to this video evidence, the Rockies aren’t a Little League team. They’re 34-42 and in third place in the NL West.
