Congressman Brad Schneider Favors Raising Federal Minimum Wage

"I've been very outspoken that the minimum wage needs to rise. Where it is today, at seven and a quarter nationally, is less than it was when I was in high school in the 1970s working at a movie theater and then as a stock boy at a department store. The difference is today many people are trying to provide for their families on that minimum wage and many of those are women, "said Schneider.

So Democrat Schneider says he favors President Obama's proposal to gradually raise the minimum wage to just over ten dollars an hour. Brad Schneider faces former Republican Congressman Bob Dold in the 10th District race this November.
