Spight said authorities did not know why she ran out into the road.

The woman, a 25-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:03 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Her name was not being released early Thursday.

Though some northbound lanes were closed early Thursday, an ISP spokesman said all lanes had reopened as of 4:15 a.m.
