Salon Offering Free Wedding Gowns To Military Brides

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A bridal shop in northwest Indiana this week is showing its gratitude to members of the military.

WBBM Newsradio's Regine Schlesinger reports, twice a year, Elegance Wedding & Evening Wear in Highland takes part in the Brides Across America program.

"They will get a free wedding gown if they qualify: either if they're in the military, or their fiancé's in the military; and they have been deployed within the past five years, or will be deployed," operations and marketing manager Stephanie Fliter said.

The store sees it as a way of giving back to those who serve.

"I had brides last year that had come in and their fiance was going to be deployed in the next two weeks. On a whim, they found out about it the night before, signed up for it and came into the store and got their wedding gowns so they were able to get married before they were deployed," Fliter said.

The store will be fitting military brides Tuesday and Wednesday. You can find out more by clicking here
