Son Killed, Mother Wounded In Chicago Lawn Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A son was killed and his mother is fighting to stay alive after a shooting on the Southwest Side early Saturday.
The woman and her 27-year old-son were both shot in the chest around 1 a.m. in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood. The son, identified as Adarrius Thompson has died.
The 50-year-old mother was seriously hurt from the gunshot and is being treated at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Chicago Police say the shooter is related to the mother and son. Investigators say all three were inside an apartment in the 6200 block of South Rockwell, there was a fight and the shooter left but then returned a short time later and showed up with a handgun.
Police are still searching for the suspect.
