(CBS) It didn’t take long for former Cubs pitcher Jeff Samardzija’s condo to get gobbled up on the market.

Traded on July 4 to Oakland, Samardzija sold his 2,500-square-foot condo for $600,000, the Chicago Tribune reported. The condo is in the Southport Corridor in Lakeview. Samardzija orginally bought the condo in 2008 for $710,000, the Tribune reported. Long rumored to be on the trade block, Samardzija first listed the condo in February.

Samardzija was working under a $5.345 million deal for this season, and the Cubs had club control of him through 2015 before shipping him to the Athletics as part of a blockbuster deal in which their received prized prospect Addison Russell. Long-term contract negotiations broke down when Samardzija wasn’t interested in a reported five-year, $85-million deal.

Samardzija’s having a stellar season, with a 2.78 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. He’s 3-8, as he didn’t receive much run support in Chicago.
