(CBS) — A child is dead and a second member of a Bensenville family sustained minor injuries in a house fire Wednesday.

Firefighters were called to the home, at 1555 W. Devon Av., at about 2 p.m. They found smoke and fire on two sides of the house, and a family member told them a child was trapped inside. Firefighters could not initially get into the building to search for the child because of the volume of flames. When they could, they found the child, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
