Police Warn Belmont-Cragin Residents Of Child Abduction Attempt
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried kidnapping three children Wednesday night in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
About 6:30 p.m., a man believed to be 50 to 60 years old walked up to three children in the 5700 block of West Belden and started talking to them, police said in a community alert. The man tried to lure them with money, but the children did not talk to him and ran off "to safety," police said.
The man is described as white, standing 6-foot to 6-foot-2, with straight black hair and a white beard. He was last seen wearing a black long sleeved shirt, blue jeans and black high boots.
The children, whose exact ages or genders were not released, told police the man frequents a McDonalds at 2350 N. Central.
